Summary:

BK Consultants Ltd were appointed to design a small extension to the rear of the Care home to add an additional 2No. rooms for residents. This was to be located in the location of an old unused sun terrace adjacent to an existing retaining wall.

The retaining wall was found to be insufficient to carry the load from the proposed structure. To strengthen the retaining wall a gabion wall was designed to wrap around the existing retaining wall in the location of the proposed extension.
